Acupuncture During Pregnancy
in Winnipeg

Individualized acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine care for common pregnancy-related concerns, including nausea, back and pelvic discomfort, headaches, sleep difficulties, and other symptoms during pregnancy.
At All Balance Wellness Centre, we provide individualized acupuncture care throughout pregnancy. Treatment is tailored to your stage of pregnancy, symptoms, health history, and overall well-being, with careful consideration of the changes that occur during each trimester.

How We Approach Acupuncture During Pregnancy

Pregnancy brings significant physical and physiological changes, and symptoms can vary considerably from one person to another and from one trimester to the next.

Our approach begins with an individualized assessment of your symptoms, stage of pregnancy, health history, and current prenatal care. Acupuncture treatment is then tailored to your individual presentation and adjusted as your pregnancy progresses.

Common Pregnancy-Related Concerns

Nausea & Morning Sickness
Acupuncture may be considered as part of supportive care for nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

Lower Back & Pelvic Discomfort
Changes in posture, body weight, and muscle tension during pregnancy may contribute to lower back, hip, pelvic, or sciatic-type discomfort.

Headaches & Muscle Tension
Pregnancy may be accompanied by headaches or increased tension in the neck, shoulders, and other areas of the body. Treatment is individualized according to the presentation and possible contributing factors.

Sleep Difficulties & Fatigue
Changes in sleep, physical comfort, stress, and energy levels are common throughout pregnancy. Acupuncture care may be incorporated into a broader approach to supporting comfort and well-being.

Other Pregnancy-Related Discomforts
Because symptoms and medical circumstances vary during pregnancy, we assess each patient individually before determining whether acupuncture is appropriate.

Early Pregnancy Support

Acupuncture may be used as supportive care during early pregnancy, including for people experiencing nausea, fatigue, stress, or other pregnancy-related discomforts. For those with a history of pregnancy loss or concerns during early pregnancy, acupuncture care is provided alongside appropriate prenatal medical care.

Late Pregnancy & Birth Preparation

As the due date approaches, acupuncture may be incorporated into supportive care to help prepare for labor and address pregnancy-related discomfort. For people who have reached or passed their due date without labor beginning, treatment may also be considered as part of late-pregnancy care when medically appropriate.Late-pregnancy acupuncture is provided with consideration of gestational age, pregnancy history, and recommendations from your prenatal healthcare provider.
