in Winnipeg
Personalized acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine care for TMJ dysfunction, jaw pain, and associated muscle tension in Winnipeg.
At All Balance Wellness Centre, we provide individualized acupuncture care for people experiencing TMJ-related jaw pain, tightness, clicking, facial tension, and associated neck and shoulder discomfort. Treatment is tailored to your symptoms, health history, contributing factors, and overall health.
How We Approach TMJ & Jaw Pain
TMJ disorders can involve the jaw joint itself as well as the muscles of the jaw, face, neck, and shoulders. Symptoms may be influenced by factors such as muscle tension, jaw clenching or grinding, stress, posture, dental issues, or previous injury.
Our approach begins with an individualized assessment of your symptoms and the areas of tension or discomfort involved. Acupuncture treatment may focus on both local areas around the jaw and related points throughout the body, with the goal of reducing pain and muscle tension and improving overall function.
Our clinic also sees patients with persistent jaw pain and muscle tension following dental procedures, including tooth extraction. In these cases, acupuncture care may focus on the affected jaw and facial muscles as well as related areas of tension in the neck and shoulders.

Jaw Pain After Dental Procedures
Some people continue to experience jaw pain, tightness, or difficulty opening the mouth after a dental procedure even after the initial healing period. When appropriate, acupuncture may be used as part of a broader approach to help manage persistent muscle tension and discomfort. Ongoing or unexplained pain should also be assessed by a dentist or other appropriate healthcare provider.
Acupuncture as Part of TMJ Care
Acupuncture may be used as part of a broader approach to managing TMJ-related pain and muscle tension. Depending on the cause and severity of your symptoms, dental, medical, or other healthcare assessment may also be appropriate. Our treatment plan is individualized based on your presentation and response to care.
